Diversity Project

Here at Framingham High School, diversity is nothing new. People from all different cultural, racial and religious backgrounds come to school here. The coolest part of it is that everyone is different. Just by talking to some of the people and getting the story of their lives you learn something new and exciting. This is exactly what I decided to do. I decided to get some students from Framingham High School, do a photo shoot with them, do a short interview with them; then, ask them about their lives. This was my result:

This is Adam. Adam has lived in the United States his entire life. However, both of his parents are from Nigeria. Adam moved from Philadelphia to Framingham last year.

This is Andre. Andre moved to the United States four years ago not knowing any English. From there, he became extremely fluent and got enrolled into standard English speaking classes. He is also fluent in Portuguese.

This is Clara. She was born in Argentina and moved the the United States when she was only one year old. Since then, she moved to Framingham and has remained living here ever since. She is fluent in Spanish.

This is Damian. Damian has lived in the United States his entire life. His father is from Hong Kong and his mother is from Canada.

This is Dominik. Dominik is in the middle of his exchange year here in the United States. He is here only until the beginning of July then he is going back to Germany. Dominik speaks fluent German.

This is Jordan. Jordan grew up inside of the West Indies and moved to the United States when he was 5 years old.

This is Mia. She has lived in Framingham her entire life. Her mother is Chinese and her father is German. The unique story that she told me about her life is that her brother is handicapped.

This is Phillipe. Phillipe has lived in the United States for at least 15 years. He is from Brazil and the only town in the United States he has lived in is Framingham. He is fluent in Portuguese.

This is Sunny. Sunny lived in India for four years. He came back from India when he was in 5th grade. Both of his parents are Indian.

Diversity contributes to new experiences, great stories and new friendships. Diversity is just one of the things that makes Framingham High School a great place.
